I wonder how the idea of Halloween even started! Too many theories have been tossed around but there should be a reason why it started. Easy Halloween Costume Ideas Homemade For Father I recently found out that it was a custom of the Romans that had been passed down to this generation. Apparently, they worshipped Samhain, lord of the dead. They believed that the night before October 31st, he called together wicked souls or evil spirits and believed that they would harm them if they didn’t please Samhain! I guess this all explains cats, witches, and ghosts on Halloween.

Since I moved to United States I have seen two days of Halloween, I have attended to Halloween parties with my friends, but I never bought special customs for this night. I would like to wear them because they are traditionally modeled after supernatural figures such as monsters, ghosts, skeletons, witches, and devils. Over time, the costume selection extended to include popular characters from fiction, celebrities, and generic archetypes such as ninjas and princesses. Costuming became popular for Halloween parties in United States and I think in all the countries who celebrate this day, and that’s would everybody do before Halloween is to pick a special custom for this special night.

Happy Halloween 2015 Best Costumes Design Images For Adults Kids Halloween is one of the oldest holidays that we still celebrate today, although not too many people know why we celebrate this holiday. Halloween was first called Samhain, and had emerged in Ireland as a Celtic holiday. Samhain was a festival, that marked the ending of Summer and the beginning of Winter. The Celtic's would extinguish their fires in their homes on October 31st. The Celtic Priests would gather at this time and light a bonfire, from which the people would all re-light their fire's from, beginning the new year with an act of unity.  Today we celebrate this holiday in a very different way. Children dress up in costumes of their favorite super-hero or princesse, and walk around their neighborhoods asking for candy; then spending the next couple of days stuffing their faces with all the candy they collected. When looking at how we celebrate this holiday, from when it was called Samhain to now, as we call it Halloween. It may appear as though there is little or no connection between the two, but in reality there is. One similarity is the costumes.

The Celtic people would dress up in ghoulish costumes in hopes to scare away any spirits that might want to possess them. Although the reason to why we wear the costumes has changed, the clothes have not. We continue to practice this tradition of wearing scary costumes of hobgoblins, ghosts, and witches. The Celtics believed that the spirits of the dead would be able to possess the living on October 31st.

It was possible because the spirit world intermingled with the living, on that date, giving the spirits one chance to and take over a living persons body. Or at least this is what the Celtic people believed to be true, that all laws of time and space along with there worldly boundaries was suspended for this one night. So this is why we dress up in scary costumes and let are children parade around the neighborhoods nosily, so they can scare away any spirts looking

The Day of the Dead is a holiday that focuses on the religious and spiritual consequences of death, which sets it apart from Halloween. There is an emphasis on remembering dead relatives and friends, giving them offerings, and praying for their safe passage to heaven. Day of the Dead deals with accepting the deaths of family members and helping them get to the other side, a more religious focus than what Halloween has.

Halloween didn't become popular in America until the 19th century and, because of this it doesn't have traditions as deep as those of Day of the Dead. Halloween parties became popular. Tissue paper companies caught on to this trend and made paper decorations. From there, Halloween became more and more commercial and less about the spiritual, religious, and personal effects of death.

Halloween changed from its origin's intent because Americans have a hard time accepting and facing their own death. Death is a subject which could be considered don't ask, don't tell. One of the main differences between Day of the Dead and Halloween is that, during Day of the Dead, specific people are remembered. In this way, the dead are once again members of a group and a family and remain a part of the living world. During Halloween, however, there are no specific people remembered, only make-believe monsters. Also, Americans have put aside the religious holidays of All Saints Day and All Souls Day and celebrate only Halloween.

Happy Halloween 2015 Best Costumes Design Images For Adults Kids In conclusion Halloween and The Day of the Dead may be similar in some aspects. They are very different on their views on death. While people who celebrate Halloween fear death, the people who celebrate The Day of the Dead rejoice over it. Happy Halloween 2015 Best Costumes Design Images For Adults Kids

Today is October 12th and that means that there are only nineteen days until Halloween night. My boyfriend and I went to Santa Cruz last weekend, and I found the perfect little vintage dress for my costume. It was a strapless, Homemade Halloween 2015 Costumes for Girls ideas knee-length party dress, that was hot pink. It was tight up in the bodice area and puffed out from the waist down. On the front it had tiny buttons that went from the waist to the neckline. I bought the dress, along with a silver tiara with pink rhinestones for only twenty dollars. I was going to be the prettiest fairy-princess around.

When I got home, I began to transform the dress into my masterpiece. First, since I am too small to wear strapless dresses, I sewed pink ribbon onto the neckline to make a halter strap. After I did that, I sewed some of the same ribbon around the waist line to match. Then, I hot glued tiny, pink jewels onto each of the buttons to add more sparkle. After all that was complete, I sprayed the fluffy part of the dress with Krylon glitter spray. I also sprayed a pair of my old mary-jane's with the same glitter spray. Out of a box in my closet, I fished out an old magic wand with a star on top, and a pair of ratty, old angel wings. The wand would be fine the way it was, but the wings needed some major revamping. I layed the wings out on the ground, and began to spray
